With 5 locations in USA and United Kingdom and over 100 trainee aircraft we have the advantage of delivering comprehensive training for would be pilots.

Programs offered by IAOA invariantly meet Indian DGCA flight training requirements. To be able to get a Indian CPL it is mandatory to follow the DGCA training patterns and to use the listed by the department. Keeping in mind these conditions our programs are designed to complete the FAA and the DGCA requirements concurrently.

At International Academy of Aviation our focus is to prepare our candidates for a successful career.

You're here because you want to learn to fly.

You can flight-train in the major metropolitan areas of New York and North Carolina.

Want to fly for fun?

Academy of Aviation has locations just outside of New York City and Charlotte, North Carolina. You will fly small planes in the same airspace as major flights going in and out of JFK and Charlotte Douglas International, and learning to become a pilot in these airspaces will give you the experience and confidence to fly anywhere.

The flight training will start with the PPL(A), continues with IR(A) and with the CPL, SEL and MEL add on.

Flight Training

250 hours total time:
100 hours as pilot-in-command
50 hours of VFR cross-country flight time as pilot –in-command, including a cross-country flight totaling at least 350 NM in the course of with full-stop landings at two aerodromes different from the aerodromes of departure
40 hours of instrument training
10 hours on a complex airplane

Practical Exams

The final aeronautical knowledge and practical test is the check ride. It will be taken at the end of the training of PPL, IR, CPL and consist of an oral and practical exam. The length of the Check ride varies depending on the PAA examiner.

Theoretical Exams

Toward the end of the course of PPL(A) and CPL(A) you will have to demonstrate a sufficient level of theoretical knowledge at an FAA approved testing center in the form of a written test. Location Information

and points of interest:

  • is just minutes away from JFK International and Spadaro Airports. Between these two airports, you will have the experience and competence to travel anywhere in the World. Your flight training here will make you capable of (and comfortable with) flying into complex controlled airspace like JFK, and show you what it is like to be landing at an airport where you are the sole arrival and departure of the day. We have 11,000 foot runways and grass strips for you to jumpstart your flight training.

Also, just minutes to the north, we have mountains and many different types of terrain for you to familiarize yourself with- an integral factor in your comfort level at the controls of an aircraft is knowledge and recognition of your surroundings. We feel this locale is absolutely perfect for everyone- from first time flyers to long time pros.
